  8. *** WHAT ***
  9. Glidel is a freeware system extension to Drag-and-Drop icons on
  10. the Finder's Menu Items (that works only with System 7).
  11.  
  12. *** HOW ***
  13. 1/ The action performed depends on where you drag-and-drop a selection to:
  14.  
  15. -- The Apple Menu Icon:  move the selection to the "Apple Menu Items" folder.
  16. -- A Folder in the Apple Menu:  move the selection to that folder.
  17. -- An Application in the Apple Menu:  same action performed as would do
  18.     drag-and-dropping the selected file on the application's icon.
  19.  
  20. -- An Item in the File Menu:  same as selecting the file in the finder
  21.     then choosing a File Menu Item [One of: Open, Print, Get Info, 
  22.     Sharing..., Duplicate, Make Alias or Put Away].
  23.  
  24. -- The Application Menu Icon:  move the selection to the "System" folder.
  25. -- An Item in the Application Menu:  same action performed as would do
  26.      drag-and-dropping the selected file on the application's icon.

  28. 2/ Hierarchical Menus
  29. -- Glidel works well with hierarchical menus such as those from 
  30.     BeHierarchic 1.0.5, NowMenus 3.0.2 and 4.0.1, SuperBoomerang 4.0.1, 
  31.     and also with the "Finder's windows" in ApplWindows 2.0.2.
  32. -- Glidel also works with menu creating utilities like OtherMenu 1.2.2, 
  33.     and AliasMenu 1.1 (in wich case drap-and-dropping on their MenuBar
  34.     Icons send the file to the "relevant" folder).

  36. 3/ Duplication and Aliases Creation
  37. -- If one press the option key when drag-and-dropping, a "duplicate" of 
  38.     the file will be moved or opened.
  39. -- If one press the control key when drag-and-dropping, a "alias" of 
  40.     the file will be moved or opened.

  42. *** HISTORY AND CHANGES ***
  43. -- Glidel 2.0: Cursor change when using Glidel, Alias creation,
  44.                      Compatibility with (most) hierarchical menus utilities.
  45.                      Better selection management and no more tail patch use.
